Undergraduate Programs (Associate & Bachelor’s)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GPA 2.0+)

F-1 Student Visa Process
F-1 Visa Process in 6 Steps
- Apply and be accepted to CalMU
- Submit financial documentation
- Receive Form I-20
- Pay SEVIS fee
- Apply for F-1 visa at U.S. Embassy/Consulate
- Prepare for arrival (at least 2 weeks before classes begin)
Transfer Students (F-1 Visa)
- Must meet CalMU admission requirements
- Provide documentation from current U.S. institution
- Complete SEVIS transfer process with current DSO
- Receive transfer I-20 from CalMU
Maintaining F-1 Status
- Full-time enrollment required
- Satisfactory academic progress
- Limited to 1 online course per semester
- Report to University 2 weeks before session start
- Notify DSO of address or program changes

CalMU provides comprehensive support services including visa guidance, academic advising, and cultural adjustment assistance through our International Student Services office.
F-1 students can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which allows up to 12 months of work authorization. Students in STEM-designated programs may be eligible for an additional 24-month extension.
Yes, but F-1 students are limited to one online course per semester. The remainder must be hybrid courses with in-person components
Undergraduate students must take four courses per semester (two per session) with at least three hybrid courses. ²Ñ²¹²õ³Ù±ð°ù’s students must take three courses per semester with at least two hybrid courses. Doctoral students must take two courses per semester with at least one hybrid course.
F-1 students are eligible for on-campus employment and, after completing one full academic year, may apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for off-campus employment related to their field of study.
